Music Line-up Revealed for Festival
An extended music line-up has been released for the forthcoming Borders Green Festival
that will take place over the weekend of Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd July. Musicians
from as far away as the USA will play alongside the cream of Borders talent at the
Five Arches Playing Fields, Tweedmouth, Berwick upon Tweed.
Touring acts such as Trevor Moss & Hannah Lou, recent signings to the Heavenly Records
roster (home to The Magic Numbers & Edwyn Collins amongst others) will bring an organic
feel to the music at the festival. Their delicate but earthy songs are reminiscent
of 60s folk-rock bands such as Fairport Convention, as well as Bob Dylan in his more
reflective moments. Local acts such as The Maltings resident band Electric Penelope,
Iain Petrie & Friends and Duns favourites The Dull Fudds will share the stage on
Sunday 3rd July which will be headlined by The Orbitsuns, a blues rock outfit from
Detroit, Michigan who are known as “the greatest party band of the decade, capable
of encouraging a maniacal hoe-down before bringing things back with a slow dance.
These are loveable deviants completely at ease with cowboy boots and bent Stetson
hats.”
A full day’s live music also waits for festival go-ers on Saturday 2nd July. With
music from 11am – late programmed and co-ordinated by local music management company
Travelled Music, who have championed local music at Barrels Alehouse for the past
two years with great success. Local favourites The Briganties will return for a special
acoustic performance to start the day while bands such at The Warehouse Announcement,
RIDNA, Espionage of the Loc and the much loved Ditch Your Sidekicks will all perform
in what is sure to be a fantastic day for the Berwick music scene. Artists from Manchester
(Spokes), Newcastle (Grandfather Birds) and Duns (Easter Street) will all grace the
stage throughout the day that will be capped off by a headline DJ set from Acrylic
Indie.
